You stay on your side. I'll stay on my side :p

This is one of the classic plots of sitcoms that have two polar opposite characters sharing a living space.  it always leads to lots of fun when one person can't get to the bathroom, and the other can't get to the fridge.

On this date (8/13) in 1961 a city did this.  Berlin (it's in Germany) was half communist (it was owned by the USSR)  and half capitalist.  All of the people who could were trying to get over to the capitalist side.  This prompted the Russians to build a wall separating the two halves.  I am not sure who got blocked off from the bathroom though.

Of course the wall has been torn down now, and Germany is completely its own country.  This doesn't take away the wonderful moments and things the wall taught us.  Who can forget United
States former president Regan shouting "Tear down this Wall," or how David Hasselhoff (sp?) singing his song about looking for freedom.  (This also taught us that at least a portion of the German population has horrible taste in music)
